Sketch 3

Sketch 3: notice the pros(easy sketch pro)

Sketch is an interface design software that caters to web designers on Mac. Still very young, sketch succeeds, however, to impose progressively

And for good reason. Bohemain Coding , the publisher seems to keep its promises by offering, with version 3, a particularly fluid tool, flexible

and tailored to the UI / UX / mobile designers . To constitute today a particularly strong alternative to Photoshop and Illustrator ; within its

fields of application, at least. Basically, we Sketch cares much mess in a market dominated so far by Adobe and Creative Cloud!

So, as we like it when it's a mess, we wanted to contribute to the debate by inviting three UX designers converts to answer our questions and

share their experiences: Philippe Hong , Sébastien Gabriel and Jean-Marc Denis . The first has already won several awards for his work  and has just published a tutorial on Sketch 3 . The second is visual designer (easy sketch pro review)

for Google Chrome and uses software in particular for the design of interfaces and icons. The third works at Google as a product designer and is clearly not without responsibility in the aforementioned brothel; because, in

addition to holding workshops for the unconverted, it offers a Master Class on video to teach you how to design a mobile application with Sketch

3 .

In short, enough to get a good idea of what's going on!

Why did you choose to abandon the Creative Cloud tools for the benefit of Sketch?

S. G: I always use the Creative Cloud on some things but simply Sketch offers better flexibility in my daily work is to create interfaces and

manage a myriad of assets. Sketch shines where Photoshop fishing because it became too general. Sketch is a program to meet our needs, very

special, designer interface(easy sketch pro download).

P. H: I chose to spend on Sketch UI for projects because the software is adapted to this need, and especially because it is performing.

Operation is smooth and without "song"; paramount thing to work well.

JM.D: Personally, I have never used all the Creative Suite tools 100%. Moreover, its price is exorbitant. There was never any real competition

in this market, that's why everyone has always used Photoshop, Illustrator, or Fireworks. Obviously each of these tools has qualities and

defects. On the other hand, there are many resources for learning Photoshop; it's one of the reasons that make the default tool for all

designers with whom I worked. It is a reference tool but which is not designed for the design of interfaces. Photoshop photo editing functions

and quite heavy engine make it a tool that many hate but all using every day. Illustrator is a solid alternative, unfortunately has a less

obvious learning curve. As for Fireworks that was supposed to fill a void was left abandoned by Adobe.
Sketch has messed up many habits and many designers eagerly awaited tool that would offer a more solid and stable alternative that the Creative

Suite. The beginnings were not amazing. Nevertheless, the first steps were refreshing with the native Mac interface and ease of manipulation of

the elements. The adoption of Sketch by many designers is explained and is also explained by the excitement around new features like smart

guides, the "alt" key to display the measures, the vector mode, export resources and the elements that can dynamically change without destroying

them. In addition, at its output, its initial price of $ 30, was very attractive to designers, who like me, were freelancers.

What exactly are its strengths? Disadvantages(easy sketch pro full)?

JM.D: Sketch is software that is a lot of assets to please designers but obviously this software is still young in its creation and the team,

although very responsive and attentive, more work before it .
For me, one of the big strengths of Sketch, is the speed of the software. It is fully vector and uses native languages in Mac OS. This causes

free function due to the OS such as versioning, automatic backup of files and rendering more accurate fonts than any other software. All

operations are non-destructive so the combinations and transformations of vector shapes are reversible and dynamic. Sketch Mirror is also a

great asset, to watch its designs in real time on the phone. This helps to iterate rapidly.
The team works quickly and is listening to users. For example they were reactive on the request of the symbols that arrived in version 3(webinar jam).
Although very effective, this software has a few areas for improvement. The snapping grid pixel is a good example, it is a bug which was really

frustrating. On the other hand, it may be that plant Sketch time to time if the pages are provided too. In this case, I advise to keep pages

with a reasonable number of artboards. The upside of that bug, is that during the software crash, you never really lose work because the

autosave works fine. But overall I think the team operates very effectively on the problems that may be encountered.

SG: Sketch is lightweight, fast and simple. It is fully vector and a creation system assets incredibly convenient and flexible.
Sketch of the disadvantages come mainly from its bugs and things that can sometimes upset as managing alignment with the pixel grid or the text

tool.
Some will blame Sketch of lacking specific tools such as bitmap editing, but it is important to understand that Sketch is a niche tool and its (easy sketch pro trial)

developers have done a great job to keep him in the right direction. It is always easier to add additional features to appeal to user requests

but is obtained in the end product a heavy and difficult to control; a problem faced Adobe products, in my opinion.

PH: Sketch actually has a lot of strengths. This is particularly a native Mac software, so extremely fluid; it is entirely vector, which lets

you zoom and be very precise; offers a new way to work with a system of "Artboards" (work plan) that provides a view of the whole design, which

can then be deposited in pages (handy because we have everything our project in a one file); File rarely exceeds 100 MB, while those in

Photoshop can easily reach the 1GB; many other interesting things, finally, that I discuss at length in my introductory tutorial Sketch.
Among the disadvantages: the software is still fairly young so there are still bugs, but it is improving; sometimes small misunderstandings in

use

Are you the only one using Sketch; Is it an individual choice or a collective purpose at Google?

SG: I'm far from alone and growing team integrates their workflow. Change usage patterns in a company as Google is a process that can be long

because all our old records are made via Adobe products, and Sketch still things proved. It also is not necessarily to all types of designer

that can meet to Google. I would say that a large part of UI and UX designer has already made the change.

JM.D: I used Sketch before arriving at Google and I have always been an "evangelist" of this software. Arriving at Google I talked a lot about

the software and have proposed to form designers a few workshops. Many were hooked and have converted. On arriving I was the only the Inbox /

Gmail team to use it but I joined a lot of designers; it is now ten to use. It has become a production tool in itself. Inbox by Gmail and
(video maker fx)
Android iOS and new Android Gmail were designated as 100% Sketch.
Many designers use Sketch other teams and that's why you see Sketch files publicly provided by Google for material design.

What place for Sketch to its competitors; Including Photoshop and Illustrator?

SG: As I said earlier, Sketch is a niche tool and this is what makes its strength. The development team is also very close to the community and

that is precisely what he lacks Adobe, I think. They have the flexibility and speed of adaptation of a small business a juggernaut like Adobe

can not have. If Sketch maintains its leadership niche and level of listening, he will become (if it already is) an essential tool for the

clientele, far ahead of its competitors.

PH: Absolutely agree. Sketch is a niche market, unlike Photoshop, where it seems that everything is concentrated. This gives a new look to what

we know for a long time, ie: Photoshop photoshop photoshop ... Other competitors are on the scale, as Affinity Designer I look forward and I

will reveal certainly in a next tutorial ...http://www.chootech.com/2016/12/video-maker-fx.html

JM.D: The following CC catches up in the latest releases but it still gas plants because of the length of the code. However, one must understand

that it is not a tool designed for the interface design. However, Illustrator still used a lot, I understand why it is a powerful tool but the

legacy of the print world is always a sensitive issue at home. :)
On the side next software I met Marc Edwards and I look forward to the release of their software Skala . I respect a lot Marc and I imagine that

his attention to detail and expertise will be reflected in this program.

How could change this software in its future releases? or how would you like it evolves, at least?

SG: For me, Sketch must remain simple and evolve simultaneously and in harmony with the need it fulfills. One of the great dangers of Sketch

would be too diverse. I think now Sketch is extremely good at what he proposes and that once a few bugs fixed, he approaches the perfection for (easy sketch pro trial)

UI design.
What I hope is that this secretly talented team produce a "Sketch motion design" that would work in parallel with the original Sketch

application. It would, for me, the "Sketch Creative Suite" perfect. But I think it will not happen right away!

PH: I hope they will correct these few bugs but otherwise I know they are trying to improve certain tools for use even easier. I think they are

right because good software is, above all, a simple to use software.next blog
